We have arrived!

Boy, I'm tired! It's Monday - our first full day as Minnesotans. We arrived yesterday around lunch and then spent a couple of hours at our new house. The kids picked their rooms and saw where everything is going to go. They love the yard and the playground at the school across the street.

Today, the kids and I spent the afternoon at the house working and playing. There were a lot of things that the previous owner left, so I spent the day going through that and cleaning cabinets. I think the last 3 days of driving are hitting me today.

Our furniture should arrive tomorrow afternoon or Wednesday - almost a week earlier than we were originally told. I guess that's good news! I just feel like I have to hurry and get things all cleaned up so that the house is ready for our furniture and stuff...Maybe not - life is so much slower here, I think I'll just take my time and do it right the first time. Oh yeah - but I do remember to call and have my washing machine delivered - OOPS!

I've met a couple of our neighbors already. There is an older couple who lives behind us. They moved to Adrian in 1960. They were very nice and helpful, which is good because I didn't even know where the post office is! I also met another neighbor who lives a couple of streets over. She was waiting for the kids she watches to come out of school today, so she was just standing in front of our house. She was also very nice.

I'm sorry if this post doesn't seem very coherent! Maybe it's because my brain is tired. I'll try to do better in a couple of days!

We're on our way!

I'm typing this post from a McDonald's in northern Kansas City, MO. The kids were at their limit for riding in the car, so we've stopped for dinner and are letting them play on the playground to their heart's content!

The trip has gone fairly well so far, except for trying to get out of Atlanta at 4:00 on Friday afternoon! Two hours later, we were finally to Cartersville! We made it to Murfreesboro, TN last night and are planning to get to Council Bluffs, Iowa tonight - only 165 more miles...

Yesterday before we left, both kids managed to take really nasty falls. Carter tripped over a small bush in the backyard at Britney's parent's house and has a nice scrape on his forehead and arm. Ashlyn fell in the driveway while she was chasing Maggie and did a number on her elbow. She has the strawberry of all strawberries and quite the bruise to match!

As if that weren't enough, I looked at her yesterday and thought one of her teeth were loose. She calmly said no - it was just crooked. Then she proceeded to test it and it wiggled freely! Apparently it's been loose for awhile, but she didn't even realize it! Well, she must have worked on it all afternoon and then pulled it in the car on the way back from dinner. She is officially a snaggletooth! One day I'll post pictures of her - eventually.

Anyway, we should be in Minnesota around lunch time tomorrow. Check back often and thanks for all of the great comments! We miss you already!

The Adventure Begins!

After two weeks of emotional roller coasters and "we're moving - we're not moving," we're finally moving! We had some issues with our buyer's loan and as of right now, our house is still for sale. But, we feel that God is calling us to move to Minnesota and have the faith that He will see us through. The moving truck comes in the morning and if all goes well, we'll be pulling out tomorrow afternoon. I can't tell you how trying the last couple of weeks have been for me. I think I've experienced every emotion on the planet! It's incredible the peace that you experience when you surrender everything to the Lord (again...). I really should be in bed, but I've been running so crazy all day, I'm trying to unwind. Hopefully sleep will quickly ascend upon me - unlike last night where I got a whopping 3 hours because Carter has an ear infection - again. OK - off to bed. Enough rambling. Pray for us tomorrow, Saturday, and Sunday as we drive to our new home in Minnesota! If I can figure out how, I'll post some pictures once we're there.
