It's My Birthday

Yesterday was the big 31 for me. I wasn't quite sure what to expect with it being my first one living in Minnesota away from my family, but Britney came through and did a great job! Saturday he and Ashlyn baked me a cake (his first one ever!) and it turned out pretty well! I like any kind of yellow cake with chocolate frosting, so it was relatively simple :) He bought me a new comforter set that I had been eyeing for awhile and some new tennis shoes from the kids. Just exactly what I wanted!

If you think about it today, please pray for Britney's Grandma Tracy. She's in the hospital with some kind of bacterial infection. There is an infectious disease doctor coming today to run some more tests and see if they can figure out what it is. We went to see her yesterday and she seemed to be in pretty good spirits.

Well, that's our weekend! I hope you had a great one too!

Hey! I'm glad you had a good birthday. Jason's favorite is yellow cake/chocolate frosting too - so we make up reasons around here to celebrate and eat cake. Maybe we should celebrate your birthday down here... :-)

We'll keep praying for Britney's Grandma - please let us know how she's doing.

And when is Lori Carson starting her blog anyway?? (hint hint) Don't hide - I know you're reading this...and I know where you live. (ok, I'd have to look it up, but I could probably figure it out!)

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I'm glad it was a good one, I can't believe you are 31! Seems like we were just celebrating the roaring 30's at your house.

I'm glad you had a happy birthday too! I wasn't sure how I would feel on your first birthday away either and I must admit I was a little sad when I thought that this was the first birthday that I couldn't put my arms around you and wish you a happy day. Tell Britney I am so proud of him. I know he is a good "shopper" because he has come up with some pretty good gifts in the past but,I am REALLY proud of the "Betty Crocker" side of his personality coming through!!

We will pray for Grandma every day and will anxiously await the results of her latest tests. God is faithful and hears the prayers of his children!

Give my love to everyone.

~~~HAPPY BIRTHDAY LARA~~~
I knew it was coming up because I always remember your Roaring 20's party and it makes me laugh.
I really miss you guys and am living vicariously through your blog.
Tell Deanna I'll start a blog when she has a baby girl.
Tell Britney that Duncan Hines called and wants the apron back. Very impressive he did that himself - or maybe it should be Ashlyn we are impressed with for getting her Daddy to cook with her.
Glad you had a good weekend - hope the rest of the year is just as fabulous and fantastic news about your mom! Praise the Lord!
