Recipe Wednesday

It's Wednesday, and you know what that means! A new recipe :)

Minnesota Pork Chops

6 Pork Chops
Salt and pepper to taste
1 box Uncle Ben's Wild Rice
2 cups water
1 (8 oz.) can mushrooms (I omit this!!)
1 tablespoon chicken bouillon granules (I buy the cubes in bulk at Sam's and then crush 3 of them for this recipe)
1 (10.75 oz.) can condensed cream of chicken (or cream of mushroom) soup

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
In a skillet with a small amount of oil, brown the chops seasoned with salt and pepper.
Spray a large 9x13 inch casserole dish with nonstick spray. Sprinkle the rice and seasoning packet evenly in the bottom of dish.
Add water and mushrooms. Sprinkle with chicken bouillon. Arrange the chops on top and spoon soup over chops and rice. Cover casserole with aluminum foil and seal tightly. Bake for 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours or until rice and chops are tender.

Let me know if you make this recipe and how you like it! It's one of our family's favorites!

Good Wednesday, happy cooking!! I was looking to see what the next recipe would be this week. If I make this in Georgia will it be Georgia Pork Chops? It sounds really good and this is one that I am going to try. (I want to do the Cinnamon Bread as well but have to find whole wheat flour first). I agree with you, I think I will leave out the mushrooms too!!! But, I will think of YOU as I am cooking. Thanks for the great new dishes to try on Dad.
Love you,

Here's my Wednesday recipe for tonight:

1 minivan (yes, we still have it)
1 Big kid
1 Small kid
1 Moe's Kids Eat Free Night
3 Burritos
Chips
Drinks

Put all of the kids in the minivan. Tell them to be quiet and stop picking on each other. Drive to Moe's. Order 3 Burritos and try to keep the kids calm and quiet while we sit down. Eat the pre-made 1,000 calorie burritos. Enjoy every bite because I didn't have to cook!!! : )

Actually, you'll be proud of me. I cooked a turkey on Monday and it was actually really good! I also did grilled chicken one night and lasagna and salad another night (while Mark's parents were here), so I'm ready for a night out! Thanks for the recipe though. Sounds easy enough that I might try it next week! Talk to you soon!
